The Chestertons Foundation was founded in 2019 by Salah Mussa, a successful, serial entrepreneur and active philanthropist.

In 2005, Salah Mussa bought Chestertons estate agency, founded in 1805, and grew it into one of the most successful property businesses in London.

The Foundation’s original mission was to tackle social mobility issues in London arising out of poor access to basic needs including food, education and housing.

With its connection to the UK property market, the Foundation’s primary focus was supporting Londoners without a home.

 

Now

Mr Mussa now heads Chestertons Global Ltd which operates in Europe, Asia, Africa, North America and the Caribbean.

Today, we are the Chestertons International Foundation and focus on funding organisations across the four continents in which the Chestertons Global Network operates.

Our Chairman

Giving back to society runs in the family. Salah Mussa’s father, Mohamed Mussa, came from humble beginnings; he grew up in Libya under Italian occupation and often lacked access to basic needs. After Libyan independence, he built his fortune and became a prominent Libyan businessman, eventually moving to London and establishing a real estate and commercial portfolio in the UK and internationally.

Because of earlier hardships, Mohamed Mussa promoted the importance of charity throughout his life and was well known for his philanthropy, consistently supporting poorer families in Libya and abroad. This desire to share one’s success by giving back to the community is embedded in the Mussa family – Salah and his children have a deep passion for continuing Mohamed Mussa’s legacy.

Chestertons Foundation operates through the help of trustees, employees and volunteers, all of whom give up their own time to help the causes we support.
